All restaurants and food
outlets operated by QSR Group serve or sell only halal (permissible
under Islamic law) food products and beverages. This includes
KFC, Pizza Hut and Rasa Ayamas.
All our products are certified halal by Jabatan Kemajuan
Islam Malaysia (Department of Islamic Development Malaysia)
and carry the JAKIM logo.
To ensure that every product sold is completely halal, we have
a Syariah Advisory Council consisting of highly respected Islamic
scholars and personages. Its present members are:
- Tan Sri Dato' Muhammad Ali bin Hashim
- Ahamad bin Mohamad
- Tan Sri Dato' Abdul Kader bin Talip
- Dato' Haji Nooh bin Gadot
- Prof. Dato' Dr. Abdul Shukor bin Hj. Husin
- Dato' Haji Md Hashim bin Yahaya
- Dr. Yaakob bin Che Man
The main responsibility of the council is to advise and
ensure that each and every of the QSR Group’s food
production, processing and marketing activities are halal.
At regular intervals, it conducts inspections on all plants,
food outlets, facilities and activities, including those
for slaughtering, food handling and sanitation, to ensure
full compliance.
