Launched
in 1997, ‘Tabung Penyayang’ KFC is directed to
orphans as well as disabled, homeless and needy children throughout
Malaysia. Its revenue is generated from the collection of
10 cents from the sale every of Chicky Meals, thereby enabling
KFC's patrons to have a direct hand in the success of the
programme.
In August of 1999, KFC also introduced its ‘Tabung
Penyayang’ KFC Collection Box as an extension to the
Tabung Penyayang KFC programme. Collection boxes are placed
at all KFC restaurants so that customers can contribute and
be part of this charitable effort.
‘Tabung
Penyayang’ has helped strengthen even more our relationship
with the Malaysian public. The fund’s objectives include
acting as an umbrella for KFC's community programmes, providing
an on-going community platform for KFC, and providing opportunities
for KFC customers to take part in this charity cause (i.e.
the 10 sen campaign).
The presence of KFC restaurants in almost every part of the
country plays an active role in aiding the implementation
of this programme on a nation-wide scale, thereby enabling
KFC to reach out to the underprivileged homes in rural areas.
Projek
Penyayang KFC
In 1995, KFC initiated a major project named ‘Projek
Penyayang’, which eventually became part of 'Tabung
Penyayang' KFC charity drive. More than 66 charitable homes
and institutions throughout the country were adopted and involved
in a special programme where each home will be given a meal
treat of the finger lickin' good fried chicken every quarter
of the year.
