A KENTUCKY Fried Chicken and Pizza Hut store was opened in Section 4, Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur recently.
Called the Wangsa Maju Drive-Thru 333111, the RM10.5 million project houses the 333rd KFC restaurant and the 111th Pizza Hut restaurant in the country. Both restaurants have a contemporary, vibrant and avant garde design. There is ample parking space for customers and a playing area for children.
The drive-through was launched by KFC Holdings (M) Bhd and QSR Brands Bhd group chairman Datuk Izhar Sulaiman with managing director Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani.
The KFC restaurant occupies a built-up area of 495 sq-meter and has a seating capacity for 224 diners. Its single and most out-standing feature is that it has drive-through service counters, located outside the outlet.
This provides greater convenience to customers. Izhar said the service was ideal for customers who were in a hurry. "They just have to drive up, order, grab and go." Izhar said there were four drive-through facilities (including Wangsa Maju) at KFC outlets in Metro Kepong, Sungei Besi toll plaza, Kuala Lumpur and Alor Star, Kedah.
The Pizza Hut restaurant also has a built-up area of 495sq-metre with a seating capacity for 174 diners. Izhar said the restaurant offered a pleasant setting for pizza lovers to unwind and relax while enjoying their meal.
During the launch, some 150 underprivileged children from four homes were invited to join in the celebration. They were from Persatuan Rumah Sayangan, Cheras; Rumah Bakti, Hulu Kelang; Rumah Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Hulu Langat, Cheras and Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti Selayang.
Each child was presented with a goodie bag containing a KFC sling bag, KFC/Pepsi sundae mug, flask, Chicky stationery, Beanies plush toy, Chicky jigsaw puzzle, Star Wars toppers, a Colonel toy and Adibah Amin's Ori-ental Classic Book 1, 2 and 3. |
