IN conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, KFC Holdings (M) Bhd recently launched a new addition -"Pocket of Persia" pita - to its menu at Wisma KFC in Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur recently. A chicken entree with a Middle Eastern twist, the dish comprises chicken strips, fresh lettuce and tomatoes served with salsa sauce and mayonnaise inside a pita pocket bread.
KFC Holdings executive chairman Datuk Izhar Suiaimsn launched the new item, saying it was as delicious as its Bandito Pocket, a Mexican-style product. "We believe Persian food is a taste which many people like due to the country’s geographical location between Europe and the East. It is a meeting point of different cultures and civilisations." He added that the dish was an imaginative, exciting and innovative chicken entree.
"It will be a big hit, especially with teenagers and young adults who are always looking for variety, adventure and new things to try out. "KFC's Pocket of Persia is guaranteed to give them a magical, mystical, 1Vliddle Eastern experience," he said. The new entree is sold individually, at RM4.50 a piece or as part of a set meal with one KFC Pocket of Persia, four-pieces of potato wedges, and a regular carbonated drink at RM6.60. It is available at all KFC restaurants in Malaysia and Brunei for dine-in and takeaway.
To mark the launch, KFC treated orphans and single mothers from several organisations to buka puasa at the event. Also present was KFC group executive director Datuk Johari Abdul. |
