Pizzas, prizes and much more are in store for the Best School Newspaper Awards 2004, which kicked off at the Education Ministry in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Jointly organised by Star-NiE and Pizza Hut in co-operation with the ministry, the contest was launched by Noor Rezan.
In her speech, Noor Rezan commended the organisers and said that the competition was very timely with the ministry's goal of enhancing the level of English in the country.
A short presentation by students from SMJK Katholik, whose entry was among the top 13 finalists in last year's competition, had the crowd in stitches as they shared some of their experiences in making their very own newspaper.
The contest will run from this month until June and is expected to attract thousands of students.
